MIAMI, FL — During the 2023 National Restaurant Association Show in May, students from Florida International University’s (FIU) Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management demonstrated how Tabit Technologies’ mobile-first technology is being utilized to blend hospitality expertise with technological proficiency in educational settings.
Throughout the show, FIU Chaplin School students took shifts demonstrating how they are gaining hands-on experience in streamlining operations, enhancing guest service, and maximizing efficiency with Tabit systems. The mobile-first technology serves as a training tool both in the classroom and in the school’s award-winning, student-run restaurant, the FIU Bistro.
“Through our partnership with Tabit, we’re building the hospitality leaders of the future together,” said lead culinary and restaurant management professor and chef John Noble Masi. “By integrating the latest technology into the classroom, students will be better prepared for leadership roles. From order taking, to kitchen productivity, to payment, the Tabit system enhances their learning experience and exposes them to real-world innovative solutions.”
Armed with their understanding of the hospitality industry’s demand for increased efficiency and enhanced guest experience, Tabit and FIU’s Chaplin School are taking bold steps to prepare future hospitality professionals. This forward-thinking approach ensures that when students graduate, they are well-prepared to navigate the evolving landscape of the hospitality industry, where technology plays a vital role.
“This collaboration represents a significant milestone in preparing the next generation of hospitality students for their careers while also instilling a passion in them for leadership,” said Nadav Solomon, the co-founder and president of Tabit Technologies. “We are excited for what the future holds for these students and the positive impact they will have on the restaurant and hospitality industry.”
FIU Chaplin School students, Ashlene Thomas, Ami Mistry, Rebecca Gibbs, Savannah Anton Sammour and Michael Eboka attended the National Restaurant Association to showcase the partnership.
