Nimis Group is a boutique executive recruiting and staffing agency with over two decades successfully building winning sales, marketing, and technical teams in the Retail, Hospitality, Restaurant, and FinTech POS market.

Why did you join RSPA?
As a staffing professional, I primarily joined RSPA to network with leaders in the space and grow my business. I also want to add value to RSPA by sharing my expertise in hiring and onboarding processes. I help my clients spot and attract high performers, minimize attrition at all phases of the hiring and onboarding process, and maximize retention. Companies often fail to recognize that they have a brand in the employment marketplace. Your hiring and onboarding process is a critical part of that brand.

What are the core values of your company?
COURAGE: To be a trusted advisor even when that means a tough conversation.
INTEGRITY: Not shoehorning someone into a job. We are not here to SELL you candidates. We’re here to help you solve business problems. We’re here to help you attract and hire the best, and to prevent costly mis-hires.
URGENCY: Most business problems are really staffing problems. All staffing problems are business problems. An unfilled role has a real and lost opportunity cost.
BUSINESS SENSE: Sure, there are a lot of great recruiters out there. They may know the right buzzwords in your industry. They might even know your competitors or have a great database. NONE have spent 20 years learning the trends and challenges you, your competitors, your partners. We understand that recruiting isn’t just about filling a role, it is about solving business problems properly, precisely, and quickly.
RESOURCEFULNESS: We pride ourselves on having a defined repeatable and efficient process. But no two searches are alike. What about those really unique “problem searches”? What verticals do you serve?
It’s really any vertical around Retail Technology, but as we know, retail-technology includes Banking/Fintech, and Hotel/Hospitality/Restaurants. Our roots are in barcoding, and this means back-of-house and retail distribution as well. We serve Payment Tech hardware AND software companies, Point of Sales OEMs, Value Added Resellers, and ISV’s who sell or resell Fixed AND Handheld Scanning, Self-Checkout Systems, Printing and Labeling companies-Thermal Transfer/Barcoding, RFID AND Electronic Shelf Label providers. We also serve retail security clients…those that manufacture, sell, install or distribute EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) Systems. Cash Management is another market we serve…think Crane/Glory. The short version is, if there is any piece of tech made for use in retail-hospitality or fin-tech, whomever made or sold it, is a client or a prospect.

Humor is a big part of our culture. I don’t want to brag, but I’m wicked funny (and originally from Boston if you couldn’t tell).

What is the most encouraging thing you see for the future of the retail IT industry?
Just watching the continued evolution/adaptation. Stores become better at being their own Distribution Center. RFID finally has a real, large-scale application. Scan and Go solutions are getting traction. Electronic Shelf labeling is getting more widely adopted. QR Codes Self-Checkout! Efficiency! Ease of shopping! I love retail tech!
