Mercury Now Offers Datacap’s PaymentsDrawer and Peripheral Bundle as a Solution-as-a-Service

Chalfont, PA â€Ã‚ Datacap announced today that it has partnered with Mercury Payment Systems, a Vantiv company, which provides payments technology and services for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs),  to offer Datacap’s new PaymentsDrawer➢ (and IPTran LT➢ Mobile.)  The Datacap PaymentsDrawer is an integrated payments and peripheral management solution to mobile POS providers via a Solution-as-a-Service model. The PaymentsDrawer provides mobile POS providers with instant access to the MercuryPay processing platform and other North American processors, as well as a variety of POS peripherals (cash drawers, receipt printers, pole displays, MSRs, PIN Pads, Scales, etc.) via one simple, out-of-scope integration.

Plug and Play POS Peripherals
PaymentsDrawer and IPTran LT Mobile have dedicated ports for a variety of common and cost-effective POS peripherals. Printers, pole displays, MSRs, PIN Pads, barcode scanners and weigh scales are driven directly by Datacap hardware. It eliminates individual hardware development support for mPOS providers and enables a simplified plug and play installation.

Easy upgrade path
For POS developers who are currently using other Datacap solutions, the upgrade path is simple. Our long standing technology and platforms provide the same payload structure, which means almost no changes need to be made to the code. The IPTran LT Mobile and PaymentsDrawer communicate over the merchants’ LAN, and activating new and existing merchants does not have to impact a merchant’s hours of operation with Mercury’s 24/7 customer support.

Payments, Security and US EMV migration
Datacap interfaces provide a turn-key integrated payments solution for POS providers — without per-transaction fees. For merchants interested in upgrading to EMV, once available in the US, an EMV-enabled PIN pad is simply connected to the dedicated PIN pad port on the PaymentsDrawer or IPTran LT Mobile to get started1. Support for E2EE and tokenization, along with the pending availability of US EMV, creates a completely secure processing environment without sacrificing functionality.

Ideal for SaaS
Mercury offers the PaymentsDrawer and IPTran LT Mobile as part of its developer toolkit, for support of any combination of a cash drawer, pole display, receipt printer and payments, all of which can be remotely activated/de-activated — ideal for POS providers that utilize a SaaS sales model.

Mercury and Datacap understand the need for simplified payments. Direct device integrations and software driver management for POS providers can be complex and time consuming.  Therefore, installations have been simplified by allowing web based applications the ability to send an HTTP POST from any browser while still having access to peripherals connected to the IPTran LT mobile.
