CHARLOTTE, NC – The Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) today named Attorney Jill M. Miller as legal counsel to serve its members. Miller will work alongside longtime RSPA Legal Counsel Bob Goldberg until his retirement in December 2020 after 32 years of service to the industry.
Miller is a member of Detroit-based law firm Bodman PLC and is chair of the firm’s Data Privacy and Security Group. She has dedicated her legal career to representing entrepreneurs and companies that serve the retail vertical. She has attended numerous trade shows and industry events and for the past five years has served on the Advisory Committee for the Southeast Acquirers Association (SEAA). In that role, she was responsible for educational programming and led the general session during the SEAA’s last two annual trade shows.
Throughout her legal career, Miller has cultivated significant experience drafting contracts and keeping clients apprised of legal and regulatory developments, including compliance with major card vendor rules. She counsels clients on data privacy, cybersecurity, card processing, mobile payments, ACH, electronic fund transfers, and stored value cards. Miller also advises clients on contractual, corporate, and compliance matters including privacy policies, buying/selling merchant and residual portfolios and companies, and responding to Visa and MasterCard notification requirements when a breach of credit card information has occurred. She has experience working with established companies, startups, and emerging companies, many of them VARs, ISVs, ISOs, card brands, and vendors in the retail IT channel.
Bodman PLC has served a broad variety of business clients for over 90 years. Miller is based in Bodman’s Ann Arbor, Michigan office. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.A. in Accounting and earned her J.D. degree cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law. She has been recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as an Up and Coming Lawyer (2013) and as a member of its Women in the Law class of distinguished women lawyers (2017). Miller’s professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, Leadership Detroit Class XL, and the State Bar of Michigan.
