$50,000 Donation Creates Mendiratta Agrawal Scholarship for RSPA VARs and ISVs

RALEIGH, NC – Nash Kumar and Deepa Agrawal have donated $50,000 to the RSPA (Retail Solutions Providers Association) Scholarship Program to create the Mendiratta Agrawal Scholarship.

Beginning in 2025 and continuing annually in perpetuity, this new scholarship will provide the child or grandchild of an RSPA member company with a $2,500 scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be students associated with an RSPA member that operates as a technology reseller or software provider.

The Mendiratta Agrawal Scholarship was announced July 29 in Las Vegas at RetailNOW 2024, the RSPA’s annual trade show, education conference, and networking event. The announcement, plus a team of on-site member volunteers, boosted the Scholarship Program significantly. Across three days, July 28-30, RetailNOW attendees donated over $10,000 to the RSPA Scholarship Program.

Nash Kumar has been active in the RSPA for years, currently as the International Director of Sales, Marketing & Business Development for HANASIS and previously with M-S Cash Drawer. “We wouldn’t be where we are without the education and the help of hundreds of people in the RSPA community,” he said. “This is our attempt to share the gift of education with a community who has helped us get where we are today. The kindness and the generosity of POS people has made a big difference in our lives, and we want to pay it forward. We trust the RSPA community, and we are grateful to the RSPA for this opportunity.”

“We are overwhelmed with the generosity shown by Nash and Deepa,” said Jim Roddy, RSPA President and CEO. “From the first moment Nash approached me at an industry event to discuss this scholarship, he was clear that he and Deepa wanted to help the children of VARs and ISVs who have made our community so successful. Our members are grateful for their support and their leadership.”

Since the inception of the RSPA Scholarship Program, the RSPA has awarded nearly $3 million to families of member companies. The children and grandchildren of RSPA members are eligible for merit-based scholarships to help ease the costs associated with post-secondary education. Nash and Deepa’s donation is one of the largest contributions ever to the RSPA Scholarship Program.
